Doula Spotlight! Abbie, our birth and bereavement doula
/Abbie is one of the first doulas we added to our Transitions Team. She makes us laugh, she is an excellent resource gatherer, and her clients rave about her.
We’d love you to meet Abbie in this Doula Spotlight!
Meet Abbie, a busy mom and Transitions Doula!
There is so much to being a doula. What is your favorite part of the work you do?
Seeing women transform right before my eyes. Going from not believing they could get though their birth, to holding their baby… in complete awe of what they just did!
Women are so much more powerful than they think!
YES! I agree 💯percent! Doulas pivot with your birth plan. We are valuable for any type of birth in any location!
If you weren’t a doula, what would your career path be?
I’d be a massage therapist!
100%! Our bodies and minds are so incredibly made for this.
As far as being a doula, what do you find is the biggest misconception when it comes to doula work?
A huge misconception is that doulas only support totally natural, med free births and if you’re not longing for that type of birth, you don’t need the support of a doula.
I love a natural birth, but support isn’t limited to that! There’s lots of support I can offer with an epidural and even c section!
Spring has sprung! If you could travel anywhere, where would it be?
If I could travel anywhere right now, I would go somewhere warm. 🌞🌞🌞
Thank you so much for giving us a glimpse into your life, Abbie! Your support to our community, our team, and your clients means the world to us, and we appreciate all that you do!
